Galicia Symphony Orchestra

Established in 1992 by the City of A Coruña, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia - OSG) stands out as one of Spain's most prominent orchestras and holds an international reputation with followers across all five continents through its YouTube channel.

Under the direction of Roberto González-Monjas as its third music director since the 2023-2024 season, the OSG previously flourished under the musical guidance of Dima Slobodeniouk from 2013 until 2022. With Víctor Pablo Pérez as its honorary conductor and José Trigueros as its associate conductor, the OSG has been the resident orchestra at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro from 2003 to 2005 and a key participant in the Mozart Festival of A Coruña since its inception in 1998. Its consistent presence both nationally and internationally includes performances in Spain's finest venues and successful tours across Germany and Austria. In 2007, it embarked on a tour of South America with concerts in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Montevideo. Notably, at the end of 2009, it performed at the esteemed Musikverein in Vienna, and in 2016, it held two concerts in the United Arab Emirates.

The OSG has collaborated with esteemed soloists such as Yuja Wang, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Isabelle Faust, and a lineup of other renowned artists. It have also featured vocalists such as Bryn Terfell, Ewa Podles, Juan Diego Flórez, and many others, always conducted by maestros like Gustavo Dudamel, Lorin Maazel, and an array of notable conductors.

Its discography, encompassing recordings for esteemed labels including Deutsche Gramophon, Sony, BIS, EMI, DECCA, Koch, Naïve, BMG, and Arts, includes acclaimed artists like Juan Diego Flórez, Kaori Muraji, and others. Notably, its collaboration with Manuel Barrueco led to a nomination for the 2007 Grammy for Best Classical Album of the Year.

The OSG's YouTube channel has become one of the most viewed in Spain and Europe. With over one hundred fifty thousand subscribers, its videos have surpassed fifty million views from 227 countries. its channel's international success and high-definition streaming initiated in the 2014-2015 season resulted in a nomination for the Classical:Next Innovation Award in 2015.

Awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Galician Academy of Fine Arts and the Music Culture Prize of Galicia in 2010, the OSG receives funding from the City Council of A Coruña, the Xunta de Galicia, and the Provincial Council of A Coruña.
